Rosen Helps Secure More Than $33 Million in Federal Funding for Safe Drinking Water in Nevada
This Funding Comes From The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Which Senator Rosen Helped Write And Pass
CARSON CITY, NV – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) applauded the announcement that $33.7 million in federal funding, which she helped secure through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is headed to Nevada to bolster the state’s safe drinking water infrastructure. The funding comes from the Environmental Protection Agency and will be given to Nevada’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources toward removing common contaminants found in drinking water and protecting public health.
“Every Nevadan deserves to have access to clean drinking water,” said Senator Rosen. “At a time when water shortages are worsening, it’s so important that we protect and conserve this essential resource. I am proud to have secured this important funding for our state, and I will continue pushing to ensure that every Nevadan has access to safe drinking water.”
Senator Rosen has helped communities across Nevada secure critical funding and support for water infrastructure projects. In August, Senator Rosen joined the ceremonial groundbreaking of the first-ever drinking water system in the Lehman Creek Residential Area, for which she helped secure funding. In May, Senator Rosen helped deliver federal funding to a water infrastructure project in Carlin to reduce water loss and ensure the security of their drinking water system. Senator Rosen also introduced bipartisan legislation to protect drinking water infrastructure from extreme weather events.
